The Indian premium SUV market in 2025-26 has reasonable but not exceptional options. The 2027 model year will see a flood of launches: Tata Harrier EV, Mahindra XEV 9e, BYD Atto 3, Hyundai Creta EV, and revised competitors from Skoda and VW. The price-feature combinations available in 18 months will substantially beat what's available today. For buyers not in immediate need, the rational move is to wait. For buyers who can't wait, focus on resale-strong models (Toyota Innova Hycross, Mahindra XUV700) that'll retain value better when the 2027 launches reset segment pricing.
